Bed & Breakfast Biscuits


  • 2 cups flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)


  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt, then make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the milk. Do not over mix the dough.
  2. Roll dough out thinly, brush with 1/3 of the softened butter and fold over, roll out again and brush with another 1/3 of the softened butter. Fold over and repeat one more time for a total of 3 times. Cut out with a 2-inch biscuit cutter.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  4. Make ‘em Cheesy Garlic Biscuits:Replace the milk with buttermilk. Replace the salt with 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt and then add 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese. Fold and butter as directed.
  5. For additional buttery goodness: Melt 3 tablespoons butter and mix with ½ teaspoon garlic powder and ½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes. Use this buttery mixture to top each biscuit before baking. Bake as directed.
